Description
Hand-thrown by Thuy in April 2024, this gourd-shaped vase features a rich brown glaze as its base, accented with splashes of blue glaze. Designed for decorative purposes or for storing sake in a Japanese-inspired style, this piece embodies both functionality and artistry. Thuy has started to study ceramics for more than two years under the guidance of expert potters in Japan, where she embraced their techniques, standards, and distinctive aesthetic approach.
Each product is fired twice in a wood kiln. The first firing is a bisque firing at 800°C for 9 hours, followed by glazing and a second firing at over 1200°C for 20 hours, to achieve the final product.
